Reduce returns by increasing returns window

To reduce the rate of returns, you may try something quite unintuitive: increase your returns window.

By increasing returns windows, merchants signal to their customers that they can purchase their products with peace of mind. With that assurance, customers actually feel safer purchasing products, and due to the longer returns windows, they grow attached to the products they have purchased - which leads to lower rates of returns.

By contrast, keeping returns windows narrow signals to customers that they are only allowed this short period to return their items if they aren't happy with them - a trigger for urgency and anxiety that will constantly remind customers to return their items if possible.
